A Selection from the 100 Days Series
featuring the work of Nancy Laliberte
Exhibit Dates: September 4 - October 26, 2019
Inspired by the 100 Day Challenge by Elle Luna and the Great Discontent, The 100 Series is a collection of 100 original ink and watercolor paintings on 7" x 5" archival watercolor paper. Each painting is labeled with the number in which it was painted in the series. Artist Nancy Laliberte has chosen 25 of the 100 pieces that share the journey of the challenge, and the joy discovered along the way, a larger gift than just a numerical date on a calendar.
Artist Statement. My art is a continuous journey in the exploration of color, light and theme both in the studio and en plein air. Sometimes the journey begins with a question such as "I wonder... ?", "What if... ?", or "Why not... ?" Sometimes it is an idea or image I can not get out of my head, and sometimes, it is simply the physical need and desire to put paint to canvas.
I savor being on this journey and am purposefully taking the meandering path as opposed to the shortest route. For on a meandering path you cover more ground, see more beauty, feel more emotion, and grow more artistically along the way.
