Students of all abilities are welcome to explore their artistic identity while connecting with others in a supportive community setting. Students will be encouraged to practice their creativity through weekly projects in a variety of mediums. Each week will focus on different topic(s) and/or medium(s).

September 17 - Weaving Your Inner World w/ Olivia Kraucyk 

Tying in with the current Vault exhibit, use a miniature loom to learn the basics of weaving using fiber and other art materials!

September 24 - Wheel Throwing: Try It! w/ Mara Mullen

Ever wanted to give the pottery wheel a spin without committing to a multi-week course? This beginner-friendly, 2-hour workshop is the perfect hands-on introduction! We’ll fire and glaze your favorite pieces for you to pick up later.

October 1 - Felted Farmfield w/ Natalie Vilter

Get introduced to 2D felting by creating a farm inspired landscape with wool!

October 8 - Mark-making & Mood w/ Olivia Kraucyk 

Experiment and compare ink pen markmaking to combine into a spooky, bold, or whimsical drawing. We'll focus on creating high-contrast value by building up marks and creating a unified mood.

October 15 - “Walk of Life” Mixed Media w/ Nancy Laliberte

Learn the art of storytelling using mixed media techniques and journaling! Bring your favorite shoes or boots to use as a drawing prop.

October 22 - Intro to Handbuilding: Garlic Graters w/ Mara Mullen

Create your own functional kitchenware in this beginner-friendly ceramic workshop! Learn slab and texture techniques to form a custom ceramic garlic and ginger grater dish.

November 5 - Waterfall Stitch Journal Bookbinding w/ Matthew Bergs

Practice the art of bookbinding by assembling your own two-signature journal, bound with a waterfall stitch!

November 12 - “Colors and Shapes of Autumn” Fall Collage/Mixed Media Wreath w/ Nancy Laliberte

Create a fall inspired wreath using a variety of colorful collage papers!

November 19 - “Drawing Deliciously” Illustrating Recipes in Ink & Watercolor w/ Nancy Laliberte

Learn to illustrate a favorite family recipe using ink and watercolor! Artists are invited to bring their own recipe, or may use one provided.

December 3 - “The Songs of Winter” Acrylic Painting w/ Nancy Laliberte

Celebrate the beauty of the season painting birch trees and cardinals while learning acrylic painting techniques!

December 10 - Intro to Handbuilding: Ceramic Ornaments w/ Mara Mullen

Get into the seasonal spirit by making your own custom clay ornaments in this beginner-friendly workshop!

December 17 - “Holiday Pop-Up” Pop-Up Card w/ Matthew Bergs

Use paper engineering techniques to assemble your own pop-up card, to send to a friend this holiday season!
