Students will unlock their creative potential in this immersive, hands-on workshop designed to harmonize body and mind through the fluid beauty of watercolors. Class begins each day with gentle yoga stretches to help participants become relaxed and focused. Throughout the two-day workshop, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the medium through exploring materials and their applications, including the "why" behind each tool and product used.

Artist Bio: Barbara Mathews

Barbara has taught water media for over 20 years, sharing her expertise locally, nationally, and abroad. A highly decorated educator, she is a recipient of the Outstanding Achievement in Art Education from the United Arts Alliance, a Hall of Fame inductee and has received the Life of an Artist Award.

While her work has been featured in local, national, and international exhibitions, Barbara’s true passion lies in the classroom. A member of several prestigious watercolor societies, she specializes in teaching the core pillars of painting, including composition, values, and color theory to artists of all levels. For Barbara, the greatest reward of her career is helping students unlock their own creative potential.
