Take your urban sketching to the next level by learning how to capture people, movement, and the small details that bring a scene to life. In this workshop, we’ll explore simple techniques for sketching figures, creating expressive silhouettes, and mixing believable skin tones with watercolor or drawing media. Students will learn how to observe gestures, clothing, and surrounding details to help tell a visual story within their sketches. We’ll also discuss ways to simplify busy scenes while keeping the energy and atmosphere of a location. Perfect for artists wanting to add more life, personality, and narrative to their urban sketches.
Students will be provided a kit with a sketchbook and drawing supplies, but are welcome to bring their own materials if they have certain media they enjoy using.
